Ciao GF Bread Fans,
A short post here…it seems like a year has gone by, not just a couple of weeks since we last emailed! Much has happened and will keep happening in this area of the world (Western North Carolina) after we were hit with a mega-destructive tropical storm wind+flood event that has wiped out lives, businesses, river towns, thousands of houses and power lines, and tens of thousands of tall trees.
In an odd twist we were gone during the actual storm on Friday September 27th, but somehow made it home Saturday the 28th. Our flight landed on time in Charlotte but the journey up into the mountains veered into the surreal with gas station lines everywhere; as we got closer to home, there were downed electrical lines, tunnels of fallen trees and high water everywhere…
Our house suffered no damage, and eight days later we have electricity, water and internet. We are ready to make sure locals can get our sourdough GF breads again for comfort and energy for the days ahead.
Sadly, our weekly River Arts District (RAD) Farmer’s Market location was swept away, destroyed by the French Broad river flood. This week we will be at West Asheville Farmer’s Market on TUESDAY, October 8th, 3:30pm-6:30pm. We’re grateful they are offering us an interim market home. A temporary RAD Market location will be set up soon.
More Soon. If you need bread this week, put your order in now. We are offering the following 3 breads for pre-order and market/front porch pick up: Buckwheat Teff in 2 formats, Italian Rustic (rounds) and Golden Milk mini-breads.
Use the Code “Storm15” for 15% off your purchase.
If you want to donate locally, Beloved Asheville is doing good work reaching the most marginalized in the Asheville community.

So glad you’re safe at home. What a gift to receive your bread. Thank you.
